In the late 1920s, the Bugatti Type 35 dominated the racetrack. This contemporary, Type 44 touring car, was also powered by an 8-cylinder 2991 cc OHC engine. With an output of 80 horsepower and, depending on the type of body, the car reached a speed of around 150 km / h. However, there is much more to the public's awareness of the Type 41 Bugatti Royale monster, whose body is remotely reminiscent of the Matchbox model. However, the Type 44 is much smaller and cannot be confused with the Royale.
